Juice for nutrients… Eat for recreation.
Here at Yoga Voorhees, we have over 15 different flavors of juices and smoothies that are made here in our certified kitchen. They are bottled to make it easy for you to grab them and go! Stop in for some nutrients in a bottle and find which is your favorite!
Juicing means that the fiber is extracted out of a vegetable or fruit, so there is no fiber to be digested, just a direct hit of nutrients to the body. We use juice like a supplement, especially when we are in the hot room all day, and can’t eat something heavy, but want to make sure our body is nourished with the nutrients it needs.
Juicing is not a restrictive thing. Many of our teachers and students find that the more we add juice into our daily routine, the more our bodies crave those nutrients, compelling us to choose foods that better nourish our bodies. We encourage people who ask us about juicing to not even try to change your diet. At first, just add juice, and see how your body starts to “rewire” itself. You’ll feel how it starts to change the way you think about food and giving your body what it needs to sustain a healthy body, and of course your yoga practice.
All of the ingredients in our juices have unique properties that affect the body differently. Some act as an anti-inflammatory, strengthen the immune system, and act as cleansing agents. Feel free to stop in to grab a juice and see why juicing supports the yoga practice. It’s just another way to help the body and mind feel good!

Frequently Asked Questions & Tips For Juicing
What is in the juices and where are they made?
All of our juices contain ONLY fresh, raw fruits and vegetables. There is no sugar or water (or anything else) added. All of the juices are made at Yoga Voorhees in our certified juice kitchen! The juice goes right from the juicer to the bottle, so it is 100% raw. Absolutely no processes, including heat pasteurizing or high-pressure pasteurizing/processes have been used on our juices. This means the juices must stay refrigerated. Drink the juices within 24 hours of opening.
Why juice instead of blending?
Juicing means that the fiber is extracted out of a vegetable or fruit, so there is no fiber to be digested, just a direct hit of nutrients to the body. We use juice like a supplement, especially when we are in the hot room all day, and can’t eat something heavy, but want to make sure our body is nourished with the nutrients it needs. Can I eat on my juice cleanse?
This is completely up to you. Many choose to do an all-liquids diet and feel good doing this, but others feel they need to eat food and juice for the nutrients. This is why our motto is “Juice for nutrients, eat for recreation.” We have the option for the smoothie, which is blended, so the fiber is not extracted the way it is with the juice. The smoothie tends to give a fuller feeling, so we always recommend to drink the smoothie during the times of the day you feel like you need the most nutrients or feel the hungriest. Some also feel their schedules are just too busy or job is too strenuous to go without food. If you feel like the all liquid cleanse is too much, feel free to eat during the times where you are the hungriest/busiest throughout the day. Stick to a raw, vegan diet when eating on the cleanse to still see maximum benefits of your cleanse. We recommend a big salad full of green veggies that are nutrient dense because those will make you feel full and your body feel satisfied!
How many days should I cleanse for?
This is completely up to you. For those who it’s their first time cleansing, we recommend 2 or 3 days so they can get a feel for what it feels like to do a juice cleanse, but it is low commitment. Many who are experienced with juice cleanses have done up to 5 days.
Will I feel hungry?
The juice cleanse is different for everyone. If you space out the juices so you have one every 3 hours, it will bring you through the whole day. Many have said that knowing they will have a juice every 3 hours made them feel better and they felt a 16 ounce serving of juice holds them over for the 3 hours. Many who say they feel hungriest at work or at night before bed also say if they save their green juices or smoothies for those times, their hunger is satisfied. Drinking water in between juice servings will also be sure to keep you hydrated, which will dissipate that hungry feeling.
How often should I drink my juice?
If you drink one juice every 3 hours, it will bring you through your whole day. Make sure you are drinking lots of water in between so you are hydrated!
What if I need more juice than 6 – 16 ounce servings?
We can customize any juice cleanse to make it more than 6 servings per day if you feel you need more. Keep in mind that 6 servings of 16 ounces juices equals 3 liters of juice (for those of you who measure in liters). We have had people do 6 servings of juice per day and then add a smoothie serving to each day and have been satisfied with that. Just talk to us and we can prepare any amount of juice that you need!
Can I have anything else besides juice?
Yes! Any fresh, raw unpasteurized juice is encouraged along with lots of water. If you need to supplement with something else, vegetable broth or miso broth are good to have in between juice servings. Also, coconut water, aloe juice, e3live blue-green algae (available at Bikram Yoga Voorhees) are good supplements that will give you some more nutrients to help you feel full and your body feel satisfied!
Can I have caffeine on my cleanse?
We do not recommend caffeine while you are cleansing. But, if you’re used to having caffeine, we’d recommend having green tea instead of coffee if you need to to avoid the caffeine headache while you’re amidst your busy day. The juices with ginger and wheatgrass also seem to have the same sort of wake-me-up affect.
Is the cleanse allergy-friendly?
While we try to keep all the flavors separated as we juice them, there could be cross-contamination when it comes to the juices because we juice multiple ingredients in each of our juices. We juice citrus and certain smoothies contain nuts and/or seeds. Please stay aware of your allergies and our ingredients when purchasing any juices or smoothies from our kitchen.
Will the cleanse interfere with any medical conditions/medications I have?
We are not certified health care professionals, we are going based off our experiences with juice cleansing and information we have personally researched. If you are concerned that cleansing could interfere with a medical condition, please consult your health care professional and/or doctor. The juices are not meant to be seen as meal replacements, but a supplement of nutrients. We are not encouraging juice cleansing as a crash diet where you do not eat for any certain amount of time.
